‘'A Beautiful Mess”, Denise Barbarita’s 4th CD, featuring, The Morning Papers,
has an extremely melodic and hypnotic quality. Her vocals gliding so brilliantly
throughout each song. A mesmerizing experience, a powerful yet gentle musical
journey. A masterpiece of excellence.
A graduate from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Music Production and
Engineering, Denise moved to NYC to pursue her career.
Out of the gate, Denise landed a development deal with EMI Music Publishing.
Upon that relationship ending, Denise realized that she could be more effective and
useful by taking things into her hands. She formed her own company, MyShyTune
Publishing, as an independent singer/songwriter and producer/engineer.
Denise has released 4 CDs independently. “Beauty Lied”, “Chaos & Congeniality”,
“Alive & B-Sides” and her most recent work, “A Beautiful Mess”.
While most of Denise’s past works have a “concept album” quality,
“A Beautiful Mess” is a bit departure. At it’s core, it still retains it’s “concept album”
approach, but Denise wanted “A Beautiful Mess” to more of a collaborative effort..
In the past, she took on all of the engineering duties, this time, she hired Emmy
nominated engineer, Robert L. Smith, of Defy Recordings to record basic tracks. The
record features collaborations with world music artist Francis Mbappe (FM Groove),
as well as cameo appearances from guitarist Danny Chavis (Apollo Heights/The Veldt)
and guitarist/composer, Michael Hewett. Her new band, The Morning Papers, also
features guitarist Kelsey Warren (Pillow Theory) stepping in as co-producer as well.
Denise’s songs have received national and international radio airplay and she has
been successful in licensing her original music for film and TV programs.
Denise has also been composing instrumental electronic tracks/soundscapes and
collaborating with other writers specifically for Film/TV placements.
Some well known shows/spots featuring Denise’s music include:
The Young & The Restless, Traveler, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, One Life to Live, All
My Children, CSI: NY, 48 Hours, Nissan, Issues:TheSeries, Dying Notes, and many
